Team CIBC celebrates National Blood Donor Week by donating in more ways than one

At CIBC, giving back is personal. Inspired by the passion, resourcefulness and tenacity of its employees, CIBC empowers its teams to give back to the community in ways that are most meaningful to them. During National Blood Donor Week, Canadian Blood Services witnessed first-hand how great things can happen when inspired employees come together.  

Efforts to promote blood donation across CIBC were led by Sylvain Hardy and Lisa Presley, members of the Commercial Banking team. These dedicated champions leveraged their corporate communication tools, including their online giving platform, to encourage financial donations and inspire fellow employees to book an appointment to donate blood. Donation centres across Canada welcomed groups of CIBC employees, who were able to log their donation time away from the office as volunteer service.

To mark the end of National Blood Donor Week, CIBC joined us at a blood donation event at our head office in Ottawa and presented Canadian Blood Services with a gift of $50,000. These funds will help us strengthen our national recruitment programs for blood and stem cell donation, promising a healthier future for patients requiring these life-saving therapies.
