A recipient and her father become blood donor champions!

The dynamic duo, Scott and his daughter Isabella

Isabella was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in 2010. She fought bravely for two and a half years; always with a positive attitude. With the help of her loving family, an incredible medical team, and a number of generous blood donors, Isabella has been in remission for over seven years.  She is now a beautiful, vivacious eleven-year-old girl!

After watching his young daughter fight so valiantly and seeing the importance of blood donation first hand, Scott has become an avid blood donor. He regularly donates platelets and has reached 110 donations! Scott and Isabella’s motto is #alwayssmile.

This August, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada will be partnering with Canadian Blood Services in selected cities across Canada.  Their community knows how important blood donors are and will be gathering together to support Canada’s Lifeline at selected donor centres.  Recipients families like Isabella and Scott, will be there to greet them with a smile!
